Denver International Airport (DEN) CEO Phil Washington has been named the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce Government Official of the Year.
“I am honored to be recognized by the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. DEN’s LGBTQ passengers and employees, and those who do business with us, deserve a safe and welcoming experience while at the airport. That’s why as CEO of Denver International Airport, I have been intentional about creating a culture that celebrates individuality and promotes a sense of belonging. In fact, these core values serve as a way of life at DEN,” said Washington.
The Government Official of the Year award honors a dedicated leader who has made an outstanding contribution to public service, significantly supporting the mission and goals of the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. This individual exemplifies a commitment to advancing public policy that fosters inclusivity, equality, and opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community. In presenting the award at their annual awards reception Saturday, Nov. 9, the Chamber noted that, “Phil has been instrumental in implementing equity and excellence for DEN since being confirmed as CEO in 2021.”
The Colorado LGBTQ Chamber’s mission is to champion the success and economic impact of the LGBTQ+ business community to promote, connect, and advance commerce, diversity, and equality for all.
