State Representative Manny Rutinel’s campaign for Colorado’s 8th congressional district (CO-08) announced on April 7, it raised over $1.1 million from over 27,000 unique donors in the first quarter since the launch of the campaign on Jan. 27, 2025. The numbers reflect continued momentum for Rutinel’s campaign, which raised over $400,000 in the first 24 hours of his launch.
“I am incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support our campaign has received. The people of Colorado’s 8th District understand what’s at stake for our country, and it shows in our grassroots fundraising,” said Rep. Manny Rutinel. “With an average contribution of $32, it’s clear that everyday people—not billionaires—are powering this campaign because they want an economy that works for everyone, lower costs for hardworking families, and more good-paying jobs. I’ve spent years fighting for their jobs, their health care and their safety, and I will continue that fight in Congress. This campaign is about people coming together to demand real leadership that puts working families first.”
Donations from small-dollar donors were significant, at an average of $32 per donation. This strong base of grassroots support continues to build momentum for Rutinel’s campaign, and CO-08 voters are rallying behind his candidacy.
“These fundraising numbers are a testament to the incredible energy and breadth of support behind Manny’s campaign,” said Campaign Treasurer Adrienne Benavidez. “With an average contribution of less than $32, it’s clear that hardworking people—not special interests—are fueling this movement. Manny has always fought for working families, and the overwhelming support we’re seeing proves that voters trust him to deliver on the issues that matter most: lower costs, better jobs, and a stronger economy for everyone.”
Colorado’s 8th congressional district is one of the most competitive House seats in the country. With a razor-thin Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, flipping this district could determine whether Donald Trump and his allies maintain unchecked power or face critical oversight in Washington.
Former Colorado Sen. Gary Hart recently endorsed Manny’s campaign with a powerful message:
“Given the increasing turmoil in Washington and destruction of proven public programs for many segments of our society, it is now more important than ever that we send our best young representatives to Congress to protect the elderly, the veterans, the farmers, the educators, the medical workers and many others through public service programs that have proved effective for our society. That is why I encourage voters of Colorado’s 8th Congressional District to support State Rep. Manny Rutinel for that office. His life story is extraordinary, his commitment to public service is genuine, he has legislative experience, and he is intelligent and motivated. John Kennedy believed we all have a torch of patriotism to pass to the next generation. I’m passing my 50 year torch of national service to Manny Rutinel.”
