In such a critical election year, COLOR Action Fund, Colorado Working Families Party, and over 12 organizations from across Colorado are proud to announce the release of the 2024 Racial Justice Ballot Guide. This year’s ballot guide invites voters to stand against systemic racism and uphold racial justice in Colorado. It includes detailed explanations of each ballot initiative, voting recommendations that uphold racial justice, and analyses of potential implications of each measure for Colorado’s Black and brown populations in both English and Spanish.
“The Racial Justice Ballot Guide is a crucial tool; we cannot afford to be passive participants in our democracy,” said Dusti Gurule, President & CEO of COLOR Action Fund. “Our goal is to empower every voter to understand the stakes on the ballot this year and to advocate for a more racially just and equitable Colorado with their vote.”
“We will be working hard to get this guide into voters’ hands over the next few weeks,” said Wendy Howell, State Director of the Working Families Party. “There are many confusing and misleading measures on this year’s ballot; we believe this guide is a critical tool to deliver the hard truth about what these measures would actually do.”
The guide features:
- In-depth analyses of all statewide ballot measures appearing on the 2024 ballot
- Practical resources, dates, and timelines for navigating the voting process
- Voting recommendations on ballot measures that directly impact racial equity, social justice, and community empowerment in Colorado
- Provides the information to voters who speak English, as well as voters whose primary language is Spanish
This initiative comes at a pivotal moment. This guide is not just about voting; it’s about harnessing our collective power to engage and mobilize voters from all backgrounds and encourage them to participate in shaping the future of their communities. It’s time for every Coloradan to rise up, educate themselves, and vote for racial justice.
To access the 2024 Racial Justice Ballot Guide, visit https://www.ballot-guide.com/coracialjustice2024. The guide is free and can be downloaded or shared digitally. A print version will be distributed around the state prior to Election Day.
This guide will culminate in a community event to educate voters in the Westwood neighborhood of Denver. The first ever “Ballot Guide Pachanga” event will be held on Thursday, October 17th, from 6 pm to 8 pm. It will provide in-depth conversational opportunities with advocacy leaders to empower voters about the racial justice issues on their ballot. An art gallery will address issues on the ballot, and a large-scale distribution of the 2024 Racial Justice Ballot Guide, music, food, and alcohol. Those interested in attending the event can register here.
COLOR Action Fund, Colorado Working Families Party, and our racial justice partners encourage all voters to educate themselves on the issues and make their voices heard this November.
