Denver Housing Authority (DHA) and the nonprofit arm, Friends of DHA, announced today that there are several ways to help foster vibrant communities this holiday season. Join DHA to help raise funds to bring joy to children living in DHA’s public housing and Section 8 housing, ensuring that every child experiences the magic of the holiday season.
“The average family living in DHA’s public housing earns less than $10,000 per year and more than half of the residents are children,” Annie Hancock, DHA director of resident and community connections said. “Donations to Friends of DHA connect families to vital services and life-changing programs. A small gesture can make a significant impact so by supporting the holiday fundraising, you’re helping us spread holiday cheer and show children in need they are valued.”
How to Support Friends of DHA this Giving Season:
Holiday Gift Card Drive: Make a donation to the 2024 Holiday Gift Card Drive. All gift card donations support the approximately 12,000 children who live in public housing at DHA. Many families may not be able to provide holiday gifts to their children and even a small donation can provide an act of kindness and help support low-income families for the holidays. All funds go toward providing families with a $25 gift card for each of the children, bringing joy to their holiday season. Donations can be made easily online at this link.
